Southwest El Centro took on Mater Dei Catholic in the 1st round of the CIF – San Diego Section Baseball Division III Upper Bracket Playoffs. It was an enthralling matchup, with both teams holding the score close. Mater Dei scored first, bringing two runs in and then later bringing another pair in. Late in the game though, Southwest would earn their 4-3 victory, with back-to-back home runs. Southwest goes on to the 2nd Round, taking on the Christian Pattriots on Friday afternoon.
