The St. Margaret’s Tartans were just coming in off a big shutout non-league victory the week prior over the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles of San Juan Capistrano, CA (42-0) and were looking to keep their momentum going before a big non-league matchup this Thursday against the Rancho Christian Eagles of Temecula.
The Calipatria Hornets were just coming in off a 0-27 loss in a Desert League matchup against the Mountain Empire Red Hawks the previous week and were looking to regroup and gain much needed momentum before going into a tough test in hosting the Axe Game this coming Thursday against the Holtville Vikings by pulling off the upset against the Tartans.
